As the enclosed pictures indicate, this is a beautiful home in a very unique setting, and still very convenient to commute to Wasilla, Palmer or Anchorage. There are lovely views of the lake and surrounding forest, and from the lake there are also views of the mountains to the east.
When the current owners of the home purchased it in 2010, they significantly upgraded the top level master suite, adding much more closet space, a large corner soaking tub and separate shower. They added a high efficiency heating system in 2017, to provide in-floor radiant heat to the lower and main levels of the home, as well as to the very deep garage. The heating system was filled with glycol instead of just water, in order to prevent possible freezeups in the winter if there is a power outage. The garage has lots of workbench space and plenty of storage cabinets. The owners also put in a new deionizer to remove iron from the well water in 2015, and added a new larger water heater in 2011. New state of the art lighting panels were installed in the lower level in 2020. The prior (original) owner was an electrician and installed upgraded electrical systems throughout the house, such as designing the system so it's ready to connect to an electrical generator. There is also a built-in gun safe in the lower level office, and the house has a monitored home security system.
Other high quality features of the home include granite countertops throughout, and a custom antique-style Elmira propane stove (elmirastoveworks.com). A nice woodstove in the main living area adds atmosphere as well as supplemental heat when desired. The home has metal roofing for long life and minimal maintenance, and a 98 foot deep well that produced 7.5 gallons per minute when the home was purchased in 2010.
With 144 feet of waterfront, there is plenty of room to add to the existing floating dock if desired. There is an outbuilding near the dock which the owners refer to as the "tiki hut" which can be used for lakeside barbecues, etc., and there is also another storage shed attached. At the top of the driveway is another storage shed near the propane tank and satellite TV dish.
The owners had contractors do extensive work in 2021 and 2022 to improve the 900 SF of decks, on two levels. Supporting columns were strengthened by adding metal base plates and earthquake hangers, and large sections of rails, spindles and posts were replaced in stairs leading from the home to the dock.
