Here's what the Sellers have to say: Mr. Belnap, who homesteaded this area, picked this exact spot to put his home. Next door was the barn for Belnaps Dairy. A different house now, and you can see why he chose this location. As you come down the slightly curving driveway to the main house in the middle of the property it feels like a little island all its own. Morning coffee on the East covered porch in the summertime is golden. Only bested by evenings witnessing the sunset on the west covered porch. In summer the perennial gardens deliver lots of color and texture. Wintertime, at this elevation, more snow than rain. Only 8-10 minutes from the Sunset Loop ski trails. Many times I've put dinner prep on hold to go zip around the upper loop once or twice and take in that epic view and winter sunsets. Having a second smaller house on the property has been great to have family close by or as a rental. This has been a perfect place to raise kids. There was a treehouse, trampoline, badminton or volleyball nets, room to play ball or frisbee, small forests on 3 sides to explore. We've had weddings and parties and barbecues too many to count. Indoors, during winter, the house is cozy, but with upstairs and downstairs living rooms, we could spread out. A studio space overlooking the Cook Inlet is a great place to watch birds, weather and ships. An ever changing viewpoint. We named this place the Rhubarb Ranch since we still have rhubarb plants from an old friend (Reuben Call). He showed off his place where he grew rhubarb and potatoes, "I've got nearly 250 head of rhubarb out there!" It's a sweet island of beauty. A magical place to live.
